CHIROPRACTORS ELIMINATE SUBLUXATIONS OF THE SPINE AND PELVIS.
Nerve interferences by malposition of joints, the so-called “subluxations”, can weaken your whole body, causing fatigue and pain. They affect your quality of life and can cause illnesses and symptoms.
THE CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT.
A chiropractic treatment is called “adjustment”.
The correction of a vertebrae is done in the range of millimeters and is gentle and precise. It is always in the physiological range of a joint, i.e. ligaments, capsules and nerves are not overstretched or pulled.
Adjustments do not hurt the joints or cause the joints to “wear out”. Professional chiropractic should NOT be confused with “manipulation” or with an often in German used term “Einrenken”, which is the correction of a dislocated joint and therefore not suitable for an adjustment.
ELIMINATE THE CAUSE INSTEAD OF MANAGING THE SYMPTOMS.
For a chiropractor the sound diagnosis is essential. Often cause and symptoms appear in different areas, therefore specific tests are a reliable source of diagnosis and are performed before each adjustment. We also work with the aid of MRI and X-Ray imaging techniques.
The technique of adjustment is precise and gentle In the CHIROPRACTIC PRACTICE.
Depending on your physical condition and age, the techniques are individually adapted.
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.
The modern chiropractor not only eliminates acute symptoms but also offers an excellent system of prevention. Similar to the regular visit to your dentist and performing dental prophylaxis, your nervous system also needs regular check-ups.
ADJUSTING TECHNIQUES IN CHIROPRACTIC
At the heart of chiropractic are the various adjustment techniques. Great pioneers of chiropractic spend years of research and practice to develop these affective and unique techniques.
Depending on your state of health, we select the appropriate technique for your physical condition.
MAIN TECHNIQUES IN A GLANCE:
1. SOT (SACRO OCCIPITAL TECHNIQUE)
SOT is a specialised, comprehensive, gentle and innovative technique of Chiropractic founded in 1925 by Dr. De Jarnette, a great pioneer of Chiropractic.
It is characterized by its amazing holistic approach and effectiveness. It is so named because of the relationship between the sacrum (base of the spine) and the occiput (base of the skull).
One of the functions of the sacrum is to pump Cerebro-Spinal Fluid (CSF) from the base of the spine back up the spinal canal to the brain and throughout the nervous system. The occiput is also a vital part of this system. The rhythmical motion that circulates the CSF is essential to optimal health – CSF effectively acts as the circulatory system of the brain and spinal cord.
The pelvis can be seen as the foundation of the human skeleton. It supports the upper body right up to the skull, and enables us to transfer our weight to our legs. The spine holds our body upright, supports all of our organs and provides anchor points for our muscles. It also protects our delicate nervous system. The nervous system controls our body, and can only function normally when our structures are balanced and our pelvis is stable. This is what SOT aims to achieve.
A healthy nervous system adapts to misalignments. A failure in adaption causes symptoms, the failure to adapt produces different “categories”.
Category One occurs when the sacro-iliac joints become misalignment, or subluxated. This has the effect of rotating the hips and tilting the sacrum.
Category Two – sprain of the pelvis.
It happens when ligaments that hold the sacro-iliac joint are stretched or sprained, allowing the joint surfaces to separate. This disturbs the body’s balance, nervous system and our spine right up to our shoulders and neck and jaw and also our cranial system.
Category Three – Lower back, discs and nerves.
Between each of the spinal vertebrae is a disc. These discs act as shock absorbers as well as spacers between the bones. When our bodies work correctly, the discs allow enough space between the spinal bones for delicate nerves to exit. When our bodies are out of balance these spaces can become compromised by an alteration to the disc, which may pinch or irritate the nerve just beside it.
Category Three occurs when the low back can no longer tolerate the physical stressors placed on it. This can be a sudden one-off event such as a lift, or it can be a pre-existing weakness that is aggravated. Often Category Three produces pain in the low back and sometimes pain radiates down a leg as sciatica.
For correction of the categories specific blocks are placed under the pelvis in a specific direction and position. The weight of your body and breathing help to reposition the sacroiliac joints / balance the lower back and take the pressure and irritation off the nerve. This allows the body to heal.
Usually you will notice that the sensitive areas improve immediately as the blocks do their work.
2. CRANIOPATHY
In craniopathy attention is focused on the jaw area TMJ (temporomandibular
joint) and the skull. Often a disorder in these areas cause chronic complaints.
4. THOMPSON TERMINAL POINT TECHNOLOGY (TTPT)
This technique was developed by J. Clay Thompson, a major pioneer of chiropractic, and is till today being developed by recognized chiropractors like J. Minardi.
The TTPT focuses on the correct positioning of the pelvic bones and of the seven cervical vertebrae.
The adjustment is performed on special tables that can be lifted in individual segments. Fast and accurate adjusting is possible with this technique.
3. MANUAL ORGAN THERAPY (MOT)
Manual organ therapy can sustainably support the effect of the adjustment. The exchange of information between organs and the brain can be positively influenced.
5. ACTIVATOR METHOD
The ACTIVATOR METHOD was founded by chiropractors Arlan W. Fuhr and Warren C. Lee.
Here the precise and gentle adjustment is made with a manual adjusting tool called the Activator.
In this technique every joint can be individually precisely tested for subluxations and corrected.
ADJUSTMENTS ARE A COMPLETELY NATURAL WAY TO STRENGTHEN YOUR INNATE SELF-HEALING ABILITY,
ADJUSTMENTS GIVE BACK YOUR BODY IT`S OPTIMAL ABILITY TO HEAL,
